The Venue Copenhagen Contemporary
An artistic hub in Copenhagen’s new cultural district
Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) is one of Scandinavia’s largest exhibition venues for contemporary art. Its beautiful and spacious industrial halls are home to total installations, performance art, and monumental video works.
Located in the unique and historical city district of Refshaleøen, Copenhagen Contemporary is surrounded by a wealth of attractions and interesting cultural experiences. This area is defined by its industrial history: it’s raw and green with stunning views across Copenhagen Harbour.
Design Matters attendees have free access to the exhibition at Copenhagen Contemporary.
Refshaleøen
In this this district you can dine at gourmet restaurants, go for a sauna, visit the flea market, and relax at Reffen, Copenhagen’s most popular food market with stalls from across the world and lounge areas by the water’s edge. Not forgetting the bungee jumping, and skiing activities at Copenhill, which are just some of the many activities this area has to offer.
Overlooking the water opposite Langelinie, Refshaleøen is easy to reach by bike, boat, or bus. It’s a different side of Copenhagen than the one you are likely to experience in the city center, which makes it a unique area giving both locals and visitors outdoor experiences and a chance to unwind.
